The Israeli Government Will Meet Today To Approve The First Stage Of Ceasefire Agreement

JAKARTA - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli government would hold a Thursday meeting to discuss a ceasefire first-stage agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

"A great day for Israel. Tomorrow I will meet with the government to agree to the agreement and repatriate all our beloved hostages," PM Netanyahu said in a statement from the prime minister's office.

"I thank the brave IDF soldiers and all the security forces, thanks to their courage and sacrifice, we have reached today," he added.

As previously reported, US President Donald Trump announced that the militant group Hamas and Israel had approved its "first phase" plan to end the Gaza war.

"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our Peace Plan... HAPPY WITH THE PEACE BRINGERS!" - President Donald J. Trump," the White House wrote on social media X.

A similar announcement was also made by a spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry Majed Al Ansari with details to be announced later.

"The mediators announced that tonight an agreement has been reached on all the terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which will lead to the end of the war, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, as well as the entry of aid," Al Ansari tweeted on social media X.

"The details will be announced later," he added.

It is known that militant groups Hamas and Israel with US, Egyptian and Qatar mediators continued Gaza's indirect ceasefire negotiations, discussing a 21-point proposal initiated by President Trump, in a meeting held at the Sharm el-Sheikh resort, Egypt since Monday.

PM Netanyahu expressed his "sincere gratitude" to US President Donald Trump and his team "for their dedication to this holy mission to free our hostages."

"With God's help, together we will continue to achieve all our goals and expand peace with our neighbors," said PM Netanyahu.
