Tragedy In Ndugisiga Village, Road Project Worker Shot By KKB Member Tembus Left Chest

JAYAPURA - Kapolres Intan Jaya, Central Papua, Kompol Sofian Samakori revealed that a road worker from PT TJP was killed after being shot by a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Ndugisiga Village, Intan Jaya Regency.

"It's true, Wednesday Anselmus Arfin, an employee of PT TJP, died after being shot by KKB in Ndugiga Village," Sofian told ANTARA, Wednesday, October 8.

Based on reports received, the victim and four colleagues were using a tractor to measure roads on the border of Ndugisiga Village and Bambu Kuning.

While working, one shot was heard from the left side of the road. Workers who heard gunshots immediately jumped from the tractor to take cover.

"At that time the witnesses saw the victim Anselmus Arfin was hit by a shot in the left chest and penetrated the back, causing him to fall lying on the side of the road," said Samakori.

The victim's colleague, Muhammad Rasyid, and other workers immediately evacuated the victim to Sugapa Hospital, Intan Jaya Regency.

The police chief said the officers were still conducting an investigation to reveal the shooter. "While the victim's body is scheduled to be evacuated to Timika," he said.
