JAKARTA - French Prime Minister (PM) Sebastien Lecornu decided to resign even though he had not been in office for a month.
France's opposition and political party leader Les Patriotes, Florian Philippot, prompted President Emmanuel Macron to follow in Lecornu's footsteps.
"And now Lecornu has just resigned! Now it's Macron's turn!" wrote Philippot in his X account, Monday 6 October.

Lecornu submitted his resignation letter to Macron amid strong opposition criticism of the composition of members of his new government cabinet announced on Sunday, October 5 local time. Macron later accepted his resignation.
Previously, Michel Barnier held a record short head of government. Barnier took office just three months after his appointment in December 2024.
