JAKARTA - The central government is preparing an integrated presentation of COVID-19 data in all provinces throughout Indonesia on one platform. This one-data system is called Bersatu Against COVID-19.
Wiku Adisasmito, Chairman of the Expert Team for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, said that the creation of a one-data system was needed as a fast and valid mechanism to record the magnitude of the COVID-19 problem in Indonesia.
"A strong collaboration is needed, both at the central to regional, district, city, and RT and RW levels in order to accelerate the handling of COVID-19," Wiku said at a press conference at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Monday, April 27.
This one data system, said Wiku, needs to be implemented. This is because data is a navigator in making a government policy with the right decisions.
"In its journey, implementing one data requires a long journey and requires support from all parties," said Wiku.
This one data system is a solution to minimize data discrepancies between central and local governments. Because, so far, data on the spread of COVID-19 by the central and regional governments often differ in a number of provinces.
Examples of data differences can be seen in the Provinces of DKI Jakarta, East Java and Central Java. When viewed on the site owned by the central government, namely covid19.go.id, it was recorded that there were 3,798 positive cases of COVID-19 in DKI, 335 recovered, and 353 people died.
Meanwhile, data compiled by the DKI Provincial Government at corona.jakarta.go.id, case developments were updated on April 27 at 10.30 WIB. There are differences in updating the data with the central government, namely 3,832 positive cases, 338 recovered, and 375 deaths.
Then, the central government described the positive cases of COVID-19 in East Java as many as 785 people, recovered 138 people, and died 87 people. However, the data collected by the East Java Provincial Government on the infocovid19.jatimprov.go.id website stated that 785 positive cases were recorded, 140 patients recovered, and 88 died.
Then, in Central Java Province, the central government stated that there were 649 positive cases, 99 people recovered, and 36 people died. Meanwhile, data compiled by the Central Java Provincial Government on the corona.jatengprov.go.id website stated that the development of positive cases was 677 patients, the number of patients recovered to 88 people, and 64 died.
"Increasingly open data does not mean immediately perfect. The size of the problem in Indonesia is the problem of communication, cross-sector cooperation, it is always a challenge for us together. However, from day to day, the cooperation is increasing so that the quality of the data is also getting better," he concluded.
