Bekasi Regency Government Open Selection Of Regional Secretary Positions, ASN In West Java May Join In Trial

JAKARTA - The Bekasi Regency Government (Pemkab) in West Java, has prepared an open selection process to fill the vacant regional secretary (sekda) position after Dedy Supriyadi was shifted to an expert staff. The current regional secretary's seat is only filled by the regional secretary.

Secretary of the Bekasi Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency Benny Yulianto Iskandar said open selection could be followed by all Bekasi Regency (ASN) state civil servants (ASN) and from outside the region in West Java who met the requirements.

"Open bidding (open selection) for the regional secretary is carried out transparently. This process will be carried out openly to the public, of course referring to applicable regulations," he said in Cikarang, Friday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He stated that the open selection stage would be carried out in accordance with the mandate of law number 20 of 2023 concerning ASN and the follow-up to Government Regulation number 17 of 2020 concerning Civil Servant Management.

Benny also stated that an open selection would also be carried out to fill the void in a total of eight high pretama positions or echelon 2 in addition to the regional secretary position.

The positions include the Head of the Fisheries Service, the Head of the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the Head of the Investment and One Stop Integrated Licensing Service, the Head of the Tourism Office, the Secretary of the DPRD, the Head of the Research and Development Agency, the Head of the Inspectorate and the Head of the Regional Financial Management Agency.

"Hopefully in the near future we can open the registration and get the results. We are trying to make this process run as quickly as possible," he said.

Acting Secretary of Bekasi Regency Ida Farida said the socialization was the beginning of the open selection stage to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms, rules and stages of selection in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

"This socialization is important so that all participants understand the procedures for selection so that they can follow every stage properly. The Bekasi Regency Government is committed to implementing this process openly, professionally and based on the merit system, in order to produce quality and integrity officials," he said.

Ida emphasized that this activity is an important strategy to realize the big vision of Bekasi Regency, namely Bangkit, Maju and Sejahtera.

He also invited state civil servants within the Bekasi Regency Government to take full advantage of this opportunity while at the same time showing the best competence, performance and dedication in serving the community.

This socialization is part of efforts to improve bureaucratic quality and strengthen governance which is more effective, transparent and responsive to the needs of the community.
