OIKN Reports Palace About IKN Development To Become The Capital Of Politics Of The Republic Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono reported the development of IKN development as the political capital to two deputy secretariat ministers, Juri Ardiantoro and Bambang Eko Suharyanto.

The report was submitted by Basuki when visiting the Presidential Palace Complex of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Friday, October 3. After the meeting, Basuki explained that he also reported on IKN status after the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 79 of 2025 concerning the Update of the Government Work Plan (RKP) in 2025.

"On this occasion, I report the status and progress of the development of the capital city of Nusantara after the issuance of Presidential Decree 79/2025, as well as conveying the 2026 '2028 program plan which is focused on completing the legislative and judicial areas according to the direction of President Prabowo Subianto," said Basuki, confiscated by Antara.

Basuki continued that he was optimistic that IKN could soon become the modern and inclusive political capital.

"With close coordination with the Ministry of State Secretariat, we are optimistic that Nusantara can be prepared as the modern, inclusive, and ready to run a complete government system in 2028," said Basuki.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto menargetkan IKN beroperasi sebagai ibu kota politik pada tahun 2028 sebagaimana termuat dalam Perpres Nomor 79 Tahun 2025 tentang Pemujungan Rencana Kerja Pemerintah (RKP) Tahun 2025. Dalam Perpres No. 79/2025 disebutkan: "Perencanaan dan pembangunan kawasan, serta pengerahan ke Ibu Kota Nusantara dilaksanakan sebagai upaya mendukungnya Ibu Kota Nusantara menjadi Ibu Kota Politik pada tahun 2028".

IKN can carry out its function as a political capital when all construction complexes of three state institutions, namely executive, legislative, and judicial, are completed and can support the operations of each institution.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto, dalam rapat bersama sejumlah jajarannya termasuk Kepala Otorita IKN (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono di Kantor Presiden, Istana Kepresidenan RI, pada 21 Januari 2025, telah memasang target IKN beroperasi sebagai ibu kota politik pada tahun 2028. Dalam rapat yang sama, Presiden juga telah menyetujui pembangunan tahap kedua IKN yang berlangsung pada 20252029. Kemudian, Presiden Prabowo juga menyetujui anggaran yang dialokasikan untuk pembangunan tersebut sebesar Rp48,8 triliun.

The Head of OIKN, after the meeting, explained that the second phase of development does not only cover ecosystems for legislative and judicial, but also supporting ecosystems, and access to IKN.

"(It's all, ed.) including in this Rp48.8 trillion, is to maintain, to manage infrastructure, and facilities that have been completed in the early stages. So, from the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Housing, submit it to OIKN for us to manage and maintain it. That's from the APBN," said Basuki.
