Ridwan Kamil Says 53 People Positive Covid-19 During Homecoming Flow

JAKARTA - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil said, 53 people consisting of 50 travelers and three tourists were declared positive for COVID-19 after random tests were conducted in west Java during the implementation of the banning of Eid al-Fitr 2021 homecoming.

"We also found from COVID-19 testing for tourists and travelers. That's the result there are three tourists who are positive of COVID and travelers (travelers) there are 50 positive. So a total of 53. This shows that concern is real," said Kang Emil, at Gedung Sate Bandung, reported by Antara, Monday, May 17.

Kang Emil said that during the ban on Eid al-Fitr 2021 homecoming, joint officers in West Java region have conducted COVID-19 tests to 6,000 people.

"So the total tested was about six thousand people. The result was 53 positive COVID. That's nearly one percent of the total tests performed. That's why I thank jabar citizens who obey or obey the rules so as not to go home to Eid al-Fitr this year," he said.

On this occasion Kang Emil instructed the COVID-19 Task Force at the district /city level to conduct tests on jabar residents who are homecoming or 'missing' during Lebaran 2021.

"So focus on preparing antigen tests, maximum PCR at the micro level. So please instruct the regent / mayor to RT RW to report the missing citizens, because of homecoming. People who are missing during Eid are assumed to be homecoming, so the target of antigen swab testing," he said.

Kang Emil reminded that it should not be confused when jabar residents who come home but are not recorded or not detected returning from their hometown by RT or RW.

"So they came home from Central Java, East Java, Sumatra then on 14 days there was a spread that we do not know in the region of fathers or mothers who are the source of travelers," he said.

It also requested that the health office, especially in jabodetabek and Bandung Raya area maximize testing and there is still the potential of people who go home after Eid al-Fitr.

"So for the POLICE TNI officers are still in charge of conducting a tribute to those who do not homecoming pattern before Eid and during Eid. But the pattern of homecoming after Eid, for that for the next few days we still have to stand by," said Kang Emil.
