Bandarlampung City Government (Pemkot) dispatched a team from the Environment Agency (DLH) to check allegations of environmental pollution carried out by the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in the area.

"We have dispatched a team this afternoon to see whether the alleged environmental pollution is true or not," said Head of DLH Bandarlampung City Yusandi Ferianto when contacted, Antara, Friday, November 3.

Yusandi explained that the team will determine whether the waste management in the SPPG area is according to standards or not.

"This Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) is a central government program, we must support it. If it is not in accordance with the procedures in managing the waste, we will provide input later," he said.

DLH Bandarlampung will also provide guidance so that SPPG can meet waste management standards and does not cause environmental pollution.

"We will also provide recommendations to create a better and standard-appropriate waste management system," said Yusandi.

He emphasized that the Bandarlampung City Government cannot impose sanctions on SPPGs that are not according to standards because the authority is in the central government.

"There are no sanctions, but we are more about coaching and providing solutions so that waste management can be carried out properly," he said.

Yusandi hopes that all SPPGs in Bandar Lampung will pay attention to waste management, so that the quality of food is maintained as well as the surrounding environment remains clean.

"The MBG program in Bandarlampung City is expected to run optimally without causing public complaints again," he said.
