JAKARTA - Senior actress Elma Theana officially spread her wings as a producer through the film Anak-Anak Bambu. This film is the first project from her production house which tells the real story of Abah Jatnika's Bamboo House.
"This is my first film which is taken from the stories in the original Bamboo House. Abah is a gymnastics teacher and bamboo expert, I want to bring this mission to the big screen," said Elma Theana in South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15.
As a producer, Elma not only pursues the commercial side, but also carries a strong social mission. He aims for this film to be a special gift for Indonesian children who are commemorated every July.
"Hopefully, later on, friends can help promote our film which will be released on July 23, on National Children's Day. We want to give them a meaningful show," he continued.
In order to succeed in this mission, Elma has carried out guerrilla promotions to various regions. The main focus is to embrace orphans so that they can experience the experience of watching quality films in cinemas.
"From now on I have toured 10 cities to promote this film. Alhamdulillah, the movement we are doing is inviting orphans to watch together at the cinema," said the wife of Julianda Barus.
Fairuz A. Rafiq, who also starred in this film, revealed that Elma's love for orphans was the main reason for the birth of this project. This is what made him moved to give full support.
"Kak Elma made this film, among other things, because she loves orphans so much, she often supports them. All the characters in this film are not perfect, but we have love that makes everything perfect," said Fairuz.
In line with Elma, producer executive Mr. Jo hopes that this film can be an entertaining educational medium. He is committed to continue producing works that have a positive impact on the audience.
"We are excited to realize this film work to become one education but still enjoyable to watch. Hopefully this film will be successful so that we remain enthusiastic to continue producing," concluded Mr. Jo.
