JAKARTA - Demonstrations recalling the massacre of student demonstrators in 1968 in the Mexican capital were marked by demands to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine.

The annual demonstration in the march for 2025 was filled with Palestinian flags and banners urging an end to Israel's military operations in Gaza.

"We empathize not only for our families, for those our grandparents have fought for, but also for all the men and women around the world who suffered what we used to suffer," said Edgar L gagasanpez, a 23-year-old economic student, who is long march with the Palestinian flag on his back, Friday, October 3, quoted from AP.

Protesters marched from the square of Tlatelolco, where Mexican troops in 1968 attacked students demanding an end to Mexico's militarization. The incident resulted in the death toll without the number of people ever knowing, which is estimated to have reached hundreds of deaths.

This demonstration was peaceful, but for some points it was hot, including several groups destroying shop windows and throwing objects, including Molotov cocktails, at hundreds of police guarding Mexico's National Palace.

Mexican City officials expect the protests to attract 10,000 people, while authorities say there are about 350 people wearing masks and acting aggressively.
