The Red And White Flag Was Torn When The TNI's 80th Anniversary At Monas, Angin Above 20 Knots Is The Cause

Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) TNI Headquarters Major General TNI (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah confirmed that the Red and White flag had been torn during a dirty rehearsal celebrating the TNI's 80th Anniversary at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, Thursday, November 2.

According to Freddy, the incident occurred because the flag was blown by strong winds when it was about to be stretched.

"At yesterday, the wind above 20 knots was quite strong. So the fabric we used was also not good," said Freddy when met by the media crew at Monas yard, Central Jakarta, Antara, Friday, November 3.

He added that the TNI immediately conducted an evaluation and replaced it with a stronger flag. At today's clean rehearsal, the Red and White managed to fly perfectly.

"So Alhamdulillah, in this clean rehearsal it went smoothly, the Red and White flew," he said.

Freddy hopes that the entire series of events, ranging from ceremonies, raising flags, combat simulations, to defile, can run smoothly on the day of the peak of celebration.

The TNI will hold an 80th Anniversary commemoration at Monas on Sunday (5/10). During the event, the TNI prepared 1,047 main weapons systems (defense equipment) from land, sea and air dimensions.

Selain itu, sebanyak 133.480 orang yang terdiri dari prajurit dan masyarakat sipil akan terlibat dalam perayaan, baik sebagai peserta upacara, simulasi tempur, pasukan penerjun, pilot tempur dan pesawat angkut, defile, hingga awak alutsista yang berparade.
