JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives passed three draft laws (RUU) into Law (UU) before undergoing a recess which will start tomorrow. Namely, the Law on Ratification of Agreements between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation on Extradition (Treaty between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation on Extradition), the BUMN Law, and the Tourism Law.
The ratification of the 3 bills took place in the 6th Plenary Meeting of the First Session Period of 2024-2025 which was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, October 2.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, as the chair of the plenary meeting, read out the first agenda, namely Level II Discussions/Decision Making on the Draft Law on Ratification of Agreements between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation on Extradition, which then asked for approval from meeting participants.
"Furthermore, we will ask all members whether the Draft Law on Ratification of Agreements between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation on Extradition (Treaty between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation on Extradition) can be approved to be ratified into law ?," asked Dasco followed by the approval of the members of the DPR who attended.
Then, Dasco read out the second agenda, namely Level II Discussions/Decision Making on the Draft Law on the Fourth Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises.

Then the event continued with reading the third agenda, namely Level II Discussions/Decision Making on the Draft Law on the Third Amendment to Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism, followed by the approval of members of the DPR and the views of the faction chairman and the government's views.
Dasco then asked for the approval of members of the DPR regarding the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (PPSK), as a Proposal for the Initiative of Commission XI of the DPR RI. The approval was taken after hearing the opinion of the Factions.
As well as listening to the opinion of the factions on the Draft Law on Statistics, the Proposal for the Initiative of the Legislation Body of the DPR RI, followed by decision making into a bill proposed by the DPR RI.
In addition to ratifying 3 bills and approving 2 bills as a DPR Initiative Proposal, the Plenary Meeting also appointed Commission VIII of the DPR RI as a working partner of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
This Plenary Meeting also closed the Session Period for members of the DPR, which was marked by the closing speech of the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani. Thus, the members of the council will undergo a recess from Friday, October 3 to Monday, November 3.
