'Egle' Eyes Circulating, Police Ask Residents Not To Easily Hand Over Vehicles

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Metro Police emphasized that his party would take firm action against criminals who often act in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta.

"We from the Kelapa Gading Police will always make a sense of security, comfort, especially in the Kelapa Gading area so that people can feel at rest in peace," Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Seto Handoko Putra told reporters, Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

The police chief also appealed to residents, especially those using two wheels, or four wheels if they found the perpetrators of the eagle eye (matel) crime, to immediately report to the nearest police station.

"If you are on the way to find or stop the wild eagle's eye so you don't immediately hand over the vehicle to the person concerned. If you feel afraid or threatened, you can go directly to the nearest Polsek or the nearest post and call the 110 call center," he said.

Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police arrested a gang of wild eagle eyes with the initials IF (23), YS (25) and F (30) who often act in the Kelapa Gading area.

From the results of the examination, the three are known to be Cawang group, East Jakarta.

"Three suspects are suspected of carrying out their actions several times in North Jakarta and Central Jakarta, approximately seven times according to the suspect's confession," said Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Seto Handoko Putra to reporters, Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

In the action, the three suspects obtained a database of the two-wheeled vehicle number plate from their fellow Eastern Indonesian eagle eye.
