PekanBARU - Sub-Directorate IV of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Riau Regional Police arrested three suspected perpetrators of mixing 3 kilograms of LPG gas into 12 kilograms at a base in Pekanbaru.

Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Riau Police Ditreskrimsus AKBP Nasrudin said the three were arrested on Jalan Bangau, Marpoyan Damai District, Tuesday night, September 30.

"In a house, three kilograms of gas was mixed into a 12-kilogram tube using a regulator hose and resold at an LPG agent not far from the house," Nasrudin said in Pekanbaru, Antara, Wednesday, October 1.

During the raid, the police found gas mixing activity using a business sign that reads the Rizky Brothers LPG Base. In front of the house, there is a red tub truck carrying dozens of gas cylinders measuring 3 kg and 12 kg.

"The results of the temporary investigation showed that the gas being mixed was taken to the house of the man with the initials D on Jalan Bangau I to be resold," he said.

Not far from the first location, the police also found a warehouse for adulterated gas storage. The house was transformed into a distribution area with a garage filled with large tubes. While at the front of the house, a pile of 3 kg gas cylinders was seen disguised with a row of gallons of water.

Nasrudin explained that the three people are currently undergoing examination. "Later, further exposure will be carried out as a result of the investigation, whether it has been operating for how long," he said.

The head of the local RT, Hendri, admitted that he was surprised by the raid. According to him, the LPG gas agent has been operating for four years.

“Saya baru tahu kalau pelaku melakukan pengoplosan. Tidak pernah terlihat ada aktivitas mencurigakan di sana,” ujarnya.

"I just found out that the perpetrator did the mixing. There has never been any suspicious activity there," he said.
