KPK Waits For The Prosecutor's Analysis Regarding Presenting Bobby Nasution At The North Sumatra Case Session

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is waiting for the analysis of the public prosecutor (JPU) regarding presenting North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution as a witness at the Medan District Court (PN).

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said that this analysis is important, the alleged bribery of road projects in North Sumatra Province is divided into several clusters, namely givers and recipients. Therefore, the presence of the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) needs to be studied again for its needs.

"We'll see the results of the analysis from the prosecutor's team. Because in this case there are several clusters, yes, the recipient cluster, the giver cluster, well, currently those who have tried, the giver cluster," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

Even so, Budi emphasized that every order of the panel of judges must be fulfilled. However, the final attitude of the institution has not been decided until today.

"Later, when there is a decision, we will of course convey it later," he said.

The panel of judges at the Medan District Court some time ago asked the KPK prosecutor to present Bobby Nasution as a witness. This order was conveyed after Muhammad Haldun as Secretary of the North Sumatra PUPR Service who was presented as a witness in the trial revealed the shift in the budget through the Governor Regulation (Pergub) for the implementation of road construction projects.

At that time, Haldun explained that the two road budgets that were the object of corruption were Sipiongot Sections, namely the Labuhan Batu and Sipionot Hutaimbaru in North Padang Lawas with a total value of Rp165 billion not allocated in the pure 2025 APBD. This project was financed from funds of a number of offices that were legalized through the Governor's Regulation.

Hearing this testimony, Judge Khamozaro Waruwu asked Bobby to be presented.

"If there is a risk to a budget shift, who is responsible? When the budget shift mechanism does not work, the governor must be held accountable," he said.

Apart from Bobby, the judge also asked the prosecutor to present the Acting Regional Secretary of North Sumatra at that time, Effendy Pohan, for questioning regarding the legal basis of the Governor's Regulation which was said to have been changed six times.

Meanwhile, the judge tried two defendants from the private sector, namely the President Director of PT Dalihan Na Tolu Group, Muhammad Akhirun Piliang and the Director of PT Rona Mora, Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi.

This case also ensnared the former Head of the North Sumatra PUPR Service, Topan Obaja Putra Ginting, who was said to be a close person to Bobby Nasution. However, he has not been tried because the files have not been transferred to court.
