PSI Says Barito Market Traders Still Refuse To Be Relocated, Pramono: Bismillah, Later Want

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to claims from the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which mentioned a number of traders at the Barito Bird Market, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Although, the DKI Provincial Government is currently preparing new land for traders.

"The Barito bismillah (market trader) will later be (relocated)," said Pramono at the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

The rejection was revealed by the Advisor of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, August Hamonangan. August sent a letter to Pramono by revealing that there were still traders at Pasar Barito who refused to be relocated to Lenteng Agung because the new land was not ready.

In addition, traders also assessed that the transfer had the potential to make them lose their customers.

"We have sent a letter to Mas Pram containing complaints from traders at the Barito Bird Market. The traders refused to be transferred to a new location in Lenteng Agung because the place there was still not ready," August said confirmed separately.

In addition, the Barito Bird Market also has an iconic status. Therefore, many customers, both from within and outside the country, come there to buy their pet bird needs. If the market is moved, then there is no concern that the traders there will lose their customers because buyers are not familiar with their new place," he continued.

August also mentioned Governor Regulation Number 49 of 2021 concerning the Provision and Utilization of Parks. In Article 18 Paragraph (1), it is stated that bahwq is one of the functions of the park for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) services.

"In this case, traders at the Barito Bird Market are part of the MSMEs that should receive protection and support from the DKI Provincial Government to continue to try in or around the park area," he explained.

It is known that the DKI Provincial Government has started building the Pusaka Flag Park since Friday, August 8, 2025. The arrangement for the merger of Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Leuser Park has resulted in the Barito Market traders being relocated to temporary places.

With an area of almost six hectares, this park will be facilitated by bridge connecting bridges (link bridges), jogging tracks, children's playgrounds, multipurpose rooms, and amphitheaters open to art and cultural performances.

Meanwhile, the construction of the Jakarta Fauna and Culinary Centers in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta is almost complete. It is targeted that the new land, which is the relocation of the Barito Bird Market trader, will be completed by the end of September 2025.
