KPK: North Sumatra Province Integrity Assessment Survey Drops Significantly

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the North Sumatra Province (North Sumatra) integrity assessment survey (SPI) has dropped significantly. Repairs were immediately made by the area led by the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Bobby Nasution.

"The North Sumatra SPI score also showed a significant decline from 66.37 in 2023 to 58.55 in 2024," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Monday, September 29.

In addition to SPI, the KPK also said that the value of monitoring control surveillance for prevention (MCSP) in the province had also decreased. The number of planning, which is one of the indicators, has decreased by 35 points from 2023.

"For the results of MCSP, the 2024 North Sumatra Provincial Government is at 83 or down seven points compared to 2023. The planning aspect is in the spotlight with a score of 63 which means a decrease of 35 points compared to the previous year," said Budi.

Budi said that North Sumatra Province became a concern after the arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared Topan Ginting when he served as Head of PUPR.

As for this case, Topan was named a suspect in the alleged bribery of a road construction project with four other people. They are Rasul Effendi Siregar as Head of the Old Mountain UPTD of the North Sumatra Province PUPR Service concurrently Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heiyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi Pilang as Director of PT RN.

"The eradication of corruption does not only stop at taking action," he said.

"The KPK will certainly continue to monitor the North Sumatra Provincial Government. Prevention efforts must continue to be carried out so that corruption modes do not happen again," concluded Budi.
