JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most parts of Indonesia will experience rain with varying intensity on Sunday (28/9), ranging from light rain to rain accompanied by lightning.
BMKG forecaster Sastia Frista in a weather forecast video monitored through the BMKG YouTube channel in Jakarta, Sunday morning, said that light rain is predicted to occur in a number of major cities on the island of Sumatra, namely Padang, West Sumatra; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; and Bandar Lampung, Lampung.
"Similar conditions also have the potential to flush Jakarta; Bandung, West Java; Semarang, Central Java; Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta; Gorontalo; Palu, Central Sulawesi; and Makassar, South Sulawesi," said Sastia.
Meanwhile, moderate-intensity rain is likely to occur in Medan, North Sumatra; Serang, Banten; Denpasar, Bali; and Mamuju, West Sulawesi.

BMKG also warns of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in several areas, such as Jambi; Bengkulu; Palembang, South Sumatra; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan; and Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
In addition, cloudy and thick cloudy conditions are predicted to occur in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Pekanbaru, Riau; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; Manado, North Sulawesi; and Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Escaped air has the potential to occur in Surabaya, East Java, and Samarinda, East Kalimantan.
As for the eastern part of Indonesia, cloudy to cloudy skies are predicted in Manokwari, West Papua; and Jayapura, Papua.
