Malaysia To Add Gaza Assistance Fund Of 25 Million US Dollars

JAKARTA - The Malaysian government plans to increase humanitarian aid funds for Gaza worth US$25 million (equivalent to Rp417 billion exchange rate of Rp16,692/US dollar), as a commitment of the neighboring country in supporting the Palestinian people.

This was conveyed by Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan at the Ministerial Level Meeting to Support the United Nations Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in New York, United States, Friday, September 26.

The USD 25 million fund will be provided in the form of humanitarian assistance and protection to Palestinian refugees, including the reconstruction of Gaza as a sign of Malaysia's ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.

At the end of August 2025, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also stated that Malaysia had prepared 100 million Ringgit or equivalent to Rp. 384 billion (exchange rate of Rp. 3,840 per Ringgit), for humanitarian assistance in Gaza.

This was conveyed by PM Anwar during a joint prayer event for Gaza entitled "Maintainment Night and Selawat Malaysiaku with Gaza", at the Merdeka Plain Field, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sunday (25/8).

He called on the people and the syarikat of wealthy traders (conglomerates) to participate.

He emphasized that as an independent, safe and sensitive country, Malaysia must learn to guarantee security and freedom for the people of other countries including Palestine.
