BNPB: 258 People And 66 Houses Affected By Central Sulawesi Donggala Floods

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that as many as 258 people affected by flooding in Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi), were already under the assistance of a joint team of officers.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the flood hit Tibo Village and Kaliburu Village in Sindue District, Tombusa Bora, after heavy rains fell since Monday, September 22 until the local river overflowed and the waterways were unstoppable.

"And 66 houses were damaged," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, was confiscated by Antara.

BNPB ensured that there were no reports of casualties in the incident and the affected residents are now starting to clean up mud material and the remaining floods in settlements.

The joint team, including the Donggala BPBD rapid reaction officer, is already in the field to monitor and assist the community in the post-flood recovery process.

He also appealed to residents to always follow the directions of the officers and immediately report emergency conditions through the official channel so that assistance can be distributed quickly and on target.

"The team conducted an assessment to ensure that the needs of the residents were met, especially the emergency assistance needed after the flood," he said.
