JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to cases of alleged poisoning felt by students in Jakarta after eating a free nutritious meal menu (MBG). Pramono only prays that the poisoning case does not occur.

"For MBG, yes, I pray that Jakarta will not happen," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 24.

When asked again about the steps taken by the DKI Provincial Government in following up on these cases. Pramono again answered with a similar sentence without commenting on the incident experienced by students in Jakarta.

"The idea is to pray, hopefully no one will be poisoned," he said.

For information, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) recorded several incidents of suspected poisoning due to consumption of the MBG menu in Jakarta. On August 29, 2025, 3 people experienced mild symptoms after eating the MBG distributed by the Pancoran SPPG, Kalibata. From the laboratory test results, the MBG provided was positive for microbiology.

Then, the alleged poisoning case also returned to the Special SPPG Koja, North Jakarta, on September 8, 2025. As a result, there were 14 people affected. However, until now there has been no laboratory test results from the food sample.

Then on Tuesday, September 24, seven students of SMA Negeri 15 Jakarta, Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta experienced symptoms of suspected poisoning after consuming MBG.

Deputy Head of BGN Nanik S. Deyang said seven students felt nauseous and dizzy. Three of them were taken to the Tanjung Priok Hospital.

"The head of the SPPG received news that there was something suspected to be like poisoning. It was 7 people, 3 people at the hospital, 4 people at UKS. What symptoms? Nausea, stomach pain," Nanik told reporters, Tuesday, September 23.

SPPG in the Sunter area provides 3,499 MBG packages distributed to a number of schools with a fried noodle menu, chicken suwir, and watermelon fruit. MBG distributed at SMAN 15 Jakarta as many as 641 packages. The SPPG team also had time to try the food menu before it was distributed.

From this case, Nanik admitted that he could not confirm whether the 7 students who experienced dizziness and nausea were poisoned or not.

"We didn't deny it, not because it was that small. It didn't deny it. But of course it became our concern. Only this is still confusing. Is it true because it eats MBG or something else?" said Nanik.

"But what is clear, thank God, is that those who are suspected of being poisoned or what is their name, the victims of 7 people, have all returned from this afternoon at 1 p.m.," he continued.

After the incident, BGN had taken samples of food to be tested by the lab at the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The results of laboratory examinations will come out within 3 days to 1 week.
