Joint Team Finds Four Cannabis Gardens In Aldom-Pegubin Village

The joint team consisting of the RI Pamtas Task Force PNG Infantry Battalion 751/Vira Jaya Sakti (VJS), Prayudha Task Force and Ketapang Task Force found four cannabis plantations in Aldom Village, Oksibil District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountains.

The discovery of the marijuana album began with a survey activity using a drone belonging to the Ketapang Task Force which was followed by a joint ambush on suspicion of suspicious activity around community plantations.

"From the sweeping, it was found that the cannabis garden was camouflaged with food crops such as sweet potatoes, mustard fruit, and corn, so that officials or the public could not detect it," said Dansatgas Infantry Battalion 751/VJS, Lt. Col. Inf. Erwan Harliantoro, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 23.

From the report received, as many as 297 cannabis trees with an average height of 1.5 meters have been secured and it is suspected that the garden has been managed for a long time and has the potential to be distributed widely.

According to him, the disclosure of the cannabis plantation is the TNI's commitment to protecting the territory from all forms of threats, including narcotics that threaten the younger generation.

"The TNI not only maintains state boundaries, but also protects the public from moral and social damage due to drugs," said Lt. Col. Inf. Erwan.

The evidence has now been secured and will be handed over to the authorities, while the location of the cannabis plantation was immediately destroyed to prevent re-use.
