Riau Police Ensure Legal Process For Police Cases Circulating 1 Kg Of Shabu

PeKANBARU - Riau Regional Police confirmed the involvement of the police with the initials Bripka A in the disclosure of 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine during the 2025 Yellow Lancang Operation in Dumai was purely a personal activity and had nothing to do with service or on duty.

Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Anom Caribbeanto, emphasized that Bripka A's actions were outside the hours and responsibilities. He also ensured that the National Police institution had never given assignments related to activities involving drugs.

Bripka A's involvement is a personal act. It has nothing to do with the Riau Police. In fact, at this time we are intensively eradicating drugs, so that anyone involved will be dealt with firmly," said Anom, Tuesday, September 23, as reported by ANTARA.

Bripka A is known to have been arrested on September 10 at a restaurant in Pekanbaru. This was after investigators from the Riau Police's Narcotics and Drug Investigation Directorate developed the arrests of three other suspects with the initials MR, AY, and AP in Dumai.

From the results of the investigation, it was known that the 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine that was secured came from a network controlled by Bripka A. In fact, the suspects admitted to depositing the proceeds from the sale of drugs into a holding account controlled by Bripka A using the identity of another person.

Kombes Anom emphasized that this case is actually clear evidence that the Riau Police are consistent in fighting drugs indiscriminately. Whoever the perpetrator is, both the general public and members of the National Police themselves will be prosecuted.

"There is no compromise and there is no room to mess with drugs," he said.

Riau Police further ensures that the legal process against Bripka A runs transparently, accountably, and according to procedures. In addition to criminal threats, Bripka A also has the potential to be subject to ethical sanctions up to dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).

"This is a strong warning to all personnel. Once again, we emphasize that the Police will not tolerate drug violations in any form," he said.
