KPK Researches LHKPN Prabumulih Mayor Arlan, Cars Used By Children Will Also Be Checked

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will check the entire report on the assets of state administrators (LHKPN) of the Mayor of Prabumulih Arlan which is being highlighted. The car that the child allegedly used to school caused a polemic was also traced to his ownership.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo conveyed this certainty when asked about the type of vehicle that Arlan recorded in his wealth report. It is known, he only reported the ownership of the Mitsubishi Total Diesel FE74HDV (4x2) M/T; four Hino FM8JW1A-EGJ units; Hino FM8J61D-EGJ Tronton (6x4); Mitsubishi Triton 2.4L DC Exceed (4x4) M/T; and Mitsubishi Triton 2.4L DC GLS (4x4) M/T.

"This (the car that was allegedly brought by Arlan's son, ed) will be checked later," Budi told reporters quoted on Tuesday, September 23.

"Are the vehicles used that then go viral in the media belonging to the person concerned or belong to the child or belonging to his family who are still dependent," he continued.

Budi said vehicles belonging to the state administrator's children who are still dependent should be included in the report. Thus, a thorough check will be carried out.

"Later we will check what its compliance looks like. Because it is obedient in LHKPN, it is not only a matter of time but also about the truth and completeness of assets or assets reported in the LHKPN," he said.

Arlan is known to report his wealth when he was still a candidate for mayor of Prabumulih based on the e-LHKPN page. His assets reached Rp19,002,737,046 but owed Rp2 billion to Rp17,002,737,046.

In addition to vehicles, Arlan is recorded to have assets of 18 land and buildings with a value of IDR 5,871,750,000.

Then Arlan also has other movable assets worth IDR 202,000,000 and cash equivalents worth IDR 8,007,987,046.

As previously reported, the Mayor of Prabumulih Arlan was highlighted for removing the Principal of SMPN 1 Prabumulih, Roni Ardiansyah, who reprimanded his son after taking the car to school. This decision was later canceled and he has apologized.

However, this controversy has already caused a commotion and Arlan finally received a warning from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). He then apologized.

"First of all, I apologize to all Indonesian people. And especially the people of Prabumulih, which I have admitted my mistake for this incident. And this makes a lesson for me and learns for me," said Arlan at the Itjen Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 18.

"Without this incident, it made me unable to control myself. With this incident, I took a lesson," he said.
