Prabowo Will Speech At The UN Session Tomorrow, Puan: Almost 10 Years Of Waiting

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani responded to the agenda of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto who will address the 80th United Nations (UN) general session in New York, United States on Tuesday, September 23.

According to Puan, Prabowo's presence is a moment that has been waiting for almost 10 years for Indonesia to be absent from the UN general assembly.

"This is the speech of the President of the Republic of Indonesia that has been waiting for almost 10 years after no Indonesian President was present at the UN session," said Puan at the DPR building, Jakarta, Monday, September 22.

The chairman of the PDIP DPP hopes that Prabowo's presence at the UN Assembly can make all Indonesian people proud. Puan also believes that Prabowo will convey many things in his speech at the UN general assembly, one of which is related to Palestinian independence.

"Of course there will be many things conveyed by President Prabowo as President of the Republic of Indonesia that have been prepared by the government, maybe one of them is related to the Palestinian issue," said Puan.

President Prabowo Subianto will deliver a speech at the General Debate session at the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), New York, United States, Tuesday, September 23 at 09.00 local time or 20.00 WIB.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said President Prabowo would deliver a speech in third place, after Brazilian President Luiz Inwaycio Lula da Silva and United States President Donald Trump.

He emphasized that this year's General Assembly session is an important momentum for Indonesia.

"In addition to appearing at the highest level of the UN forum, Indonesia will also affirm its role as a global South leader who consistently voice the world governance reform agenda to be fairer and more inclusive," he said.
