From 2025 To August, BNPT Finds 6,402 Radicalism-Terrorism-Smelling Content

JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) noted that there were 6,402 findings of content containing radicalism and terrorism from January 1, 2025 to August 26, 2025.

During a media visit to the Antara Heritage Center in Jakarta, Monday, the Head of BNPT Police Commissioner General Eddy Hartono said the various content was spread across various media in cyberspace.

"Even though the content is old content, the post continues to be repeated," said Komjen Pol. Eddy.

From these various content findings, he mentioned that the Task Force (Task Force) for the Implementation of Counter Radicalization will coordinate with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) to consider closing accounts and decreasing content.

Thus, it is said that the spread of radical terrorism in cyberspace can be mitigated so as not to spread and affect the younger generation and the wider community.

Eddy also detailed that the findings of the content were in the form of propaganda as many as 4,863 findings, funding 424 findings, logistics provider 30 findings, implementation of 817 findings, recruitment of 108 findings, training 73 findings, planning 24 findings, hiding 33 findings, and paramilitary 30 findings.

Based on its platform, various content was found on TikTok on 23 accounts, WhatsApp 394 accounts/groups, Telegram 93 accounts/groups, Instagram 222 accounts, online media 433 links, Twitter (X) 159 accounts, YouTube four accounts, and Facebook 5,074 accounts.

"We continue to monitor all of this 24 hours," he said.

Therefore, he said, BNPT continues to intensify various counter-radicalization programs in cyberspace, namely planned, integrated, systematic, and sustainable efforts aimed at stopping the spread of terrorism radicalism.

It is stated that these efforts are carried out by building individual or group strengths to be more resistant to the influence of radicalism and fighting the spread of ideology or extreme beliefs through various approaches such as law, psychology, religion, economy, education, humanity, and social-culture.

The various counter-radicalization steps that BNPT intensified were carried out through counter-ideology, counter-narrative, and counter-propaganda.
