JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed suggestions that resolving the Ukrainian conflict could be made based on a pact ending the 1950-1953 Korean War (splitting Korea into two parts).

"Our scenario is very different from what happened on the Korean Peninsula. There, the war ended without a final peace agreement... It could also be that we will not have a final final document to end the war," Zelenskyy was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Sunday, September 21.

"That's why some people, like French President (Emmanuel) Macron, say that security guarantees don't have to wait for the war to end," Zelenskyy was quoted as saying by Ukrainian newspaper Glavkom, Saturday (20/9).

According to Zelenskyy, a ceasefire is a step that is sufficient to provide security guarantees.

He further emphasized that no one was considering a Korean or Finnish scenario, or any other scenario.

"We will get what we will get," he said.

As is known, North Korea and South Korea are officially still at war, as the Korean War ended in a ceasefire, instead of a peace agreement.

However, there is a Demilitarized Zone stretching along a 38-degree latitude, dividing the Korean Peninsula into two more or less equally large parts.

As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a short-term ceasefire would only give Ukrainian troops time to reunite and arm themselves.

Putin argues that a long-term peace deal should be based on "respect for the legitimate interests of all people and all nations living in the region."

Previously, Zelenskyy said it was ready to meet Trump and Putin in a trilateral or bilateral format without preconditions, but ruled out the possibility of a meeting being held in Moscow.

"I am ready to meet with President Trump and Putin on a trilateral or bilateral basis ... I am ready to meet without any conditions," Zelenskyy said in an interview with British television station Sky News broadcast on Tuesday (16/9).

However, Zelenskyy said he had no intention of going to Moscow to negotiate, but was open to considering proposed gatherings in any other country except Russia, saying that "there are many proposals available."

Regarding the ceasefire, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was also ready to discuss the matter.
