JAKARTA - Cyberattacks targeting check-in and boarding system service providers disrupted operations at several major European airports, including Heathrow London, Brussels and Berlin, which caused flight delays and cancellations.
The attack made the automatic system unable to operate, allowing only manual check-in and boarding procedures, according to Brussels Airport.
"This has a major impact on flight schedules and unfortunately will cause flight delays and cancellations," the operator said in a statement published on its website.
"The service provider is actively handling this issue and is trying to resolve it as soon as possible," he continued.
Heathrow also warned of delays caused by "technical problems" in third-party service providers.
