KLUNGKUNG - Polres Klungkung, Bali, arrested a man with the initials BKW (22) from Sorong, West Papua, for sexually assaulting a tourist from Canada, with the initials CEC (27).

The rape took place in a Bungalow in Sakti Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali, on Saturday (6/9).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Klungkung Police, AKP Reno Chandra Wibowo, said that at that time the victim was gathered with his friends at a boarding house in Ped Village, Nusa Penida.

"The perpetrator with the initials BKW passed by and then joined the victim," said AKP Wibowo, Friday, September 19.

Then, after the victim's friends left the location, the perpetrator forced the victim to stay on the pretext of continuing the conversation.

When the victim refused, the perpetrator took the victim's motorbike key as an effort to force the victim to obey his wishes.

Furthermore, the perpetrator invited the victim to ride his motorbike.

Throughout the trip, the victim continued to ask to be taken down and repeatedly refused the perpetrator's invitation.

However, the perpetrators actually drove fast towards the Bungalow, while threatening the victim by releasing his hands from the motorcycle handlebar to scare him.

"Feeling threatened by his soul, the victim did not dare to fight back," he added.

At the inn, the perpetrator blackmailed the victim. The victim reported to the police after the incident.

The perpetrator was then arrested in the Jungutbatu Beach area, Nusa Lembongan, Klungkung, on Friday (12/9).

"Currently, the perpetrators and evidence have been brought to the Klungkung Police Headquarters for further investigation," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 285 of the Criminal Code concerning rape which carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison, and/or Article 6 letter (a) of Law Number 12, Year 2022, concerning the crime of sexual violence with a maximum imprisonment of 4 years. (*)
