JAKARTA - An elderly man with the initials MMD (76) was found dead in the Sentiong River, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Friday, September 19, 2025.
The man, a resident of Jalan Baladewa Kiri, RW 11, Tanah Tinggi Village, is thought to have died after falling into the river.
Johar Baru Police Chief Kompol Saiful Anwar said the victim allegedly fell into the river flow. The position when found the victim was covered was only wearing a sarong.
"The janitor found the victim. He has been taken to the RSCM for an autopsy," he said when confirmed.
Kompol Saiful said the victim was known to have a history of undergoing treatment due to mental disorders at Duren Sawit Hospital, East Jakarta.

"I first saw that I thought it was a pillow because there was a sarong. When I got the gun, it turned out to be the corpse of an old man," he said.
