MBG Expanded, Now Target Teachers To School Security

The Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) in Batam City, Riau Islands (Kepri) is ready to be expanded to target teachers, school guards, and officers involved in the MBG food distribution process in the school environment.

Chairman of the Coordinator of the Batam Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Defri Frenaldi explained that data collection will be carried out in the near future.

"We will start by registering the number of teachers in each school, then adjusting it to the SPPG serving the school," said Defri, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 19.

However, each SPPG still has a limit on the number of recipients according to the provisions of 4,000 people.

"If the number of recipients in the SPPG has reached the maximum service limit of 4,000 people, then synchronization will be carried out, so that all SPPGs get the same number of beneficiaries, not excessive," he said.

He added that data collection was carried out in stages in each SPPG.

In addition to teachers, beneficiaries also cover all school officers, such as security guards, and cleaners.

"Yes, that's right. School guards, including OB (office boy) and security guards, will be part of MBG recipients," he said.

This is in accordance with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which states that the expansion of the benefits of MBG is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

With this step, the MBG program not only improves students' nutrition, but also provides real support for educators and all parties who play a role in the sustainability of school activities.
