Solo Tea Seller In Front Of The Menteng Adulus Hotel Found Rotting In A Rented Room

JAKARTA - A 49-year-old male solo tea ice trader was found dead mysteriously in his rented house, on Jalan Kalipasir Pengarengan, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

The man from Cilodong, Bogor was found supine and his body was swollen and emitted an unpleasant odor.

Menteng Police Chief Kompol Rezha Rahandhi confirmed the discovery of the body. The victim with the initials A is a drink trader, who sells near where he lives. The victim lives with his fellow solo tea trader.

"The victim usually hangs out, sells in front of the Kalipasir Adulus Hotel, not far from the rented house," he said, Thursday, September 18.

Before being found dead, the victim's colleague since 1 week ago returned to his hometown in Sukabumi, West Java.

The victim also complained of hernia pain and had bought medicine on Saturday, September 13, 2025. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, the victim could still be contacted.

Then the victim was found dead in his rented room alone on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

"One of the witnesses contacted the victim and received complaints that the victim suffered from hernia and had bought medicine, but did not know the type," he said.

Until now, the case is still under investigation by the Menteng Metro Police.
