Police Investigate Mass Poisoning Students In Garut Allegedly Due To Free Nutritious Eating Menu

The police conducted an investigation into the cause of mass poisoning students in Kadungora District, Garut Regency, allegedly for consuming Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program or other factors.

"We are continuing a more in-depth investigation to determine the factors that cause it, including the possibility of testing food samples by the authorities," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Garut Police, Ipda Susilo Adi in Garut, Thursday, as reported by Antara.

He said the police, after receiving information that students were sick with symptoms of food poisoning, immediately moved to carry out security to ensure that everything had been treated medically.

The results of reports in the field on Wednesday, September 17 evening, he said, recorded 194 students who were affected consisted of 177 students experiencing mild symptoms, and 19 students had to be treated intensively at the Kadungora Health Center.

"We are also collecting information to ensure whether or not there are additional victims," he said.

He mentioned that all students complained of pain such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting after eating food served at their school on Tuesday (16/9), their health condition continued the next day until they finally received medical treatment.

The police, he said, are still conducting the following investigations to collect information from a number of parties and also conducting food laboratory tests consumed by victims in coordination with the Garut Health Office.

"Investigative steps will continue," he said.

He submitted a report that currently there are 12 students of MA Maarif Cilageni who are still being treated, three students of SMP Siti Aisyah, one student of SMA Siti Aisyah, and three students of SDN 2 Mandalasari, other victims outpatients.

"Currently the victim is still being treated by medical personnel," said Susilo Adi.
