JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian stated that as many as 141 task forces (tasks) were formed to accelerate the construction of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas to make the Free Nutrition Eating Program (MBG) a success.

"The concentration task force at 3T, there are 141 task forces at the district level, their main task is to facilitate starting from preparing land for SPPG, either from local governments or partners," he said in signing the Joint Agreement Letter (SKB) with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the Ministry of Public Works (PU) in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 18.

The Minister of Home Affairs explained that the task of each task force also submitted proposals for SPPG development points considering that in the 3T region, the natural landscape is mostly forest or islands in the middle of the sea.

Tito emphasized that in accordance with the agreement, the Ministry of Public Works will build SPPG, while the Ministry of Home Affairs prepares areas that are targets for construction and land.

"There are 806 eligible, 264 built PU, 542 handed over to BGN, whether to cooperate with local governments or partners. We adjust the definition of 3T according to Presidential Regulation in 62 districts, we will help all out," he said.

The Minister of Home Affairs also stated that BGN officers in the regions will play an important role in determining standardization and recruitment of employees in each SPPG.

Meanwhile, Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana said that so far 8,344 SPPGs have been established, which are 100 percent funded by the public.

For agglomeration areas and 3T, BGN applies two strategies, in agglomeration areas by relying on partnerships from various parties, including the TNI, Muhammadiyah, and employers' associations.

"It has been registered with 29 thousand (partners) with a total beneficiaries in each SPPG of 1,000 people, the steps we are taking are how to speed up the verification process because every day we can verify 100-150 SPPG," he explained.

Dadan added that the second strategy for remote areas with partners is less than 1,000, so each local government forms a task force according to the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs to register for the number of SPPGs that can be built.
