BOGOR - DPRD Bogor City together with the Bogor City Government, West Java, distributed educational assistance through the diploma cane program by handing over 70 diploma documents to beneficiaries at the Yasbam Vocational High School Hall (Yayasan Baitul Mukaromah), South Bogor District, Wednesday 17 September.
Present at the event were Deputy Chairman III of the Bogor City DPRD Dadang Iskandar Danubrata, Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin, and Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD Rezky Kartika, along with members of Commission IV Tri Riyanto Andika Putra and Karina Soerbakti.
Dadang explained that the diploma cane program is an initiative of the Bogor City DPRD since 2022 and targets around 2,000 students each year with a budget of IDR 5 billion to IDR 7 billion.
"This is a follow-up to the aspirations of the community during the recess. Many graduate diplomas have been withheld due to arrears in school fees. Through budget policy, we agreed to make this program and thank God it can run until now," said Dadang.
He added that the program is now an example for a number of regions in West Java. Therefore, he left a message to the Bogor City Government so that the program that has proven beneficial for these residents can continue.
According to him, the existence of the program is very important because diploma is the main requirement in applying for a job.
"Without a diploma, residents will find it difficult to find work and this could have an impact on increasing open unemployment in Bogor City," he said.
On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD, Rezky Kartika, expressed his appreciation to SMK Yasbam who was willing to cooperate in data collection and distribution of diplomas for underprivileged students.
Rezky said that the 70 diplomas handed over on this occasion are expected to be an encouragement as well as a provision for the future of the beneficiaries. "Hopefully this will provide benefits and help our children," he said.

He added that not all schools are willing to cooperate in this program because the amount of assistance provided by the government is not comparable to the total student dependents. However, his party considers Yasbam's involvement as a positive example for other schools.
"We appreciate Yasbam's vocational school who want to contribute. Hopefully this can be an example for other schools in Bogor City," said Rezky.
