Commission X Of The House Of Representatives Asks President Prabowo To Immediately Appoint A New Menpora

JAKARTA Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, asked President Prabowo Subianto to immediately announce and inaugurate the new Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora). The reason is, it has been more than a week since the position was vacant, so it is feared that it could hinder the running of the youth and sports programs that are currently underway.

"It's been a week since the Menpora's position has not been filled. This is certainly not the ideal situation. The President needs to immediately appoint the right person so that the wheels of the organization at the Ministry of Youth and Sports continue to run optimally," said Lalu Ari to reporters, Monday, September 15.

Then assessed that the vacancy in the position of the Minister of Youth and Sports gave rise to a big question mark in the public, especially among youth and sports personnel. Moreover, according to him, the ministry led by the Menpora is one of the very strategic ministries.

"Because it is directly related to the development of the younger generation and the development of Indonesian sports achievements at the regional and international levels," he said.

Therefore, the PKB legislator from the NTB II electoral district hopes that President Prabowo can immediately choose a figure that is not only popular, but also competent and has a clear vision. The new Menpora, according to him, must also be able to unite the spirit of the younger generation and provide the right direction for the advancement of national sports.

"What we need is not only people who have names, but people who really understand the needs of our youth and sports. There must be a high commitment to building a better coaching system, improving athletes' achievements, and ensuring that young people get a positive actualization space," said Lalu.

Lalu menyatakan, Komisi X DPR akan memastikan Kemenpora berjalan efektif. Karena itu, ia mendorong Presiden agar segera menunjuk Menpora baru yang bisa bekerja cepat, responsif, dan memiliki keberpihakan kepada para atlet serta generasi muda Indonesia.

He also ensured that Commission X was ready to collaborate with the new Menpora. He hopes that solid cooperation between the legislature and executives can strengthen the development of the youth and sports sectors, which so far still face various challenges, ranging from limited infrastructure to problems with sports organization governance.

Our sports have extraordinary potential, as well as the younger generation of Indonesia. It's just a matter of how the state comes through the right leadership. Therefore, the President needs to ensure that the appointed Menpora really have the capacity and dedication to serve the nation," he concluded.

As is known, the Menpora seat has been vacant for a week, since Dito Ariotedjo was removed from his position as Minister of Youth and Sports on Monday, September 8.

The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) explained that Dito's replacement already exists but is not in Jakarta so he is unable to take part in the inauguration at the Presidential Palace.
