Marijuana Dealers In Pulogebang Receive IDR 200 Thousand Wage And 3 Kg

JAKARTA - Two marijuana dealers with the initials AWS (40) and IR (42) were arrested by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit in the Pulogebang area, Cakung, East Jakarta. The police confiscated evidence of marijuana with a total of 53.075 kilograms.

Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Wisnu S. Kuncoro, explained that the disclosure of this case began with public reports regarding the existence of marijuana trafficking activities.

"We received information from the public regarding the circulation of marijuana. Furthermore, we managed to secure two men, the initials AWS and IR, along with evidence of 1 kilogram of marijuana," said AKBP Wisnu, Monday, September 15, 2025.

From the results of the interrogation, the police found that the two suspects were still keeping other evidence in the rented house.

From that location, dozens of marijuana packages were secured again, bringing the total evidence to 53.075 kilograms or about 53 kilograms.

"From the development, it turns out that there are still marijuana stored in the rented house. The total we have secured is more than 53 kilograms," he said.

The two suspects have managed to distribute 12 kilograms of marijuana in the East Jakarta area. They often transact not far from the storage warehouse.

Of each kilogram of marijuana delivered, the suspects received a wage of Rp. 200 thousand and were promised a bonus of 3 kilograms of marijuana.

From the results of the examination, the suspect with the initials AWS is known to be a narcotics case recidivist. Meanwhile, IR was previously caught in a theft case.

For their actions, AWS and IR were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 111 paragraph (2), in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a minimum penalty of 6 years to a maximum of life, and can even be sentenced to death given the amount of evidence that reaches tens of kilograms.

Through the disclosure of 53 kg of marijuana, the police managed to save more than 10 thousand young people from the dangers of drugs.

"We urge the public not to hesitate to report to the police if they know of narcotics trafficking in their environment," he said.

Meanwhile, the supplier of marijuana from Aceh is still being sought by the police. The reason is, the two suspects AWS and IR are accomplices to a marijuana dealer from Aceh.
