10 Countries That Reject Free Palestinian Resolution, One Of Them Is Papua New Guinea

YOGYAKARTA The UN General Assembly held a vote to support the independent Palestinians. The voting is a follow-up to the New York Declaration in July 2025 urging Israel to support the independence and sovereignty of Palestine. The voting was followed by both Israel and America as countries with an interest in the conflict. As a result, there are several countries with a top resolution for independent Palestinians.

Some countries that reject the Palestinian resolution of independence are Israel and America. The Israeli side itself refused because the resolution was said to only benefit Hamas. Meanwhile, America is an ally of Israel. The following is a list of countries that reject independent Palestinians based on the results of UN voting, Friday 12 September 2025.

Although there are 10 countries that reject the Palestinian resolution of independence, as many as 142 other countries provide support such as South Korea, Russia. Qatar, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria and many more. Apart from those who refuse and support there are 12 countries that abstain or do not vote. Before the vote was held, the French Ambassador at the United Nations, Jerngetism Bonnafont, again reminded that the New York Declaration would help formulate a roadmap in order to find a solution for the two conflicting countries, namely Israel and Palestine. According to him the declaration would include a ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible, the release of all hostages in Gaza, to grant sovereignty and independence to Palestine properly.

On the other hand, Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon said that a unilateral declaration would not be considered a step towards peace, instead making the credibility of the UN Majels considered weak. He also said that Hamas is the party that benefits the most from all the support provided by many countries.
