JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the 2025 World Moslem Scout Jamboree (WMSJ) had become an event to convey a peaceful message to Palestine.
"I think it's extraordinary. The peace message to Palestine, for Gaza, which is now ravaged, is at the heart of this activity. We all pray that justice and freedom will come soon," said Pramono Anung in a written statement, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 14.
Pramono also expressed concern over the long suffering experienced by the Palestinian people as a result of aggression from Israel.
"This is our common concern. Hopefully there will be a solution and Palestine can be free peacefully," added Pramono.
The world's first Muslim scouting event is one of a series of commemorations of the 100th anniversary of Gontor, and at the same time affirms Indonesia's commitment as a nation that loves peace and rejects colonialism.
The quiet atmosphere enveloped the arena when the Chairperson of the Gontor 100th Anniversary Committee, Hamid Fahmy Zarkasyi, invited 15,333 participants to pray for the Palestinian people who were battling oppression, by reading the letter Al-Fatihah.
"For Palestinians who are starving, in trouble, let's pray together by reading Al-Fatihah," he said, greeted by thousands of voices reading the letter Al-Fatihah.
WMSJ is not just a scout meeting, but a global moral movement that gives birth to a young Muslim generation of character, civilized, and humanitarian care.
From Jakarta, the message of peace and the call for the release of Palestine was played for the world.
