Amtrak passenger train company launched a new high-speed train service, NextGen Acela in Washington, United States on August 27 for travel in the Northeast Corridor.

"Acela is synonymous with America's high-speed train, and today marks a new era of future generations of services," Amtrak President Roger Harris was quoted as saying on the company's website September 8.

"On behalf of all Amtrak ranks, I am proud to welcome you to NextGen Acela. The future of high-speed trains starts now," he added.

Five new train series will be part of the initial launch, with a total of 28 series expected to be operational by 2027, quoted by CNN.

Amtrak stated that this new train will provide 27 percent more seats per departure. The seats will be equipped with individual stop contact, reading lights, and head support for convenience and privacy.

Not only that, this train will be equipped with free, high-speed, 5G-capable Wi-Fi.

"With this new Acela train series, Amtrak will provide more reliable services and lower prices for American society while increasing the profitability of the organization," said US Transportation Minister Sean P.

"However, we didn't stop there. Instead of being a source of pride, Union Washington Station has been badly damaged. By taking over the management of the station, we will help make this city safe and beautiful at a much lower cost," he said.

The new train can reach a maximum speed of 160 miles per hour, 10 miles per hour faster than the current Acela model. The slope system will provide a smoother and quieter journey on this new train, Amtrak said.

"Since our guests stepped over, they will feel the difference in the NextGen Acela train thanks to the more modern, premium, and luxurious experience," said Amtrak Council Speaker Tony Coscia.

"We are grateful for the support of Minister airing and Deputy Minister ( Steven G.) Bradbury's connection to this project, and for his assistance to reach the end line so that residents and visitors to the Northeast Corridor can enjoy new ways to travel," he added.

It is known, Amtrak first introduced its Acela fleet service in 2000
