887 Liquid Vape Contains Strong Drugs From Malaysia Confiscated In Barelang Kepri, The Dealer Is Secured

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police, the Riau Islands Police, thwarted the circulation of 887 electric liquid electronic cigarettes (vape) containing a hard drug of the type of ethomide

Kapolresta Barelang Kombes Pol. Zaenal Arifin said the 887 illegal vapes were circulated by a suspect with the initials JF. Vape was brought by another suspect who was on the DPO in Malaysia.

"So JS is a dealer, we have included another suspect on the wanted list (DPO) in Malaysia," said Zaenal at the Barelang Police Headquarters, Batam City, Friday, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the cartridge liquid vape consists of two different brands, namely the VIP brand and another Chinese-written brand.

"We are still investigating the case (investigation), the suspect has been detained at the Polresta for further investigation," he said.

Furthermore, Kasatresnarkoba Polresta Barelang Kompol Deni Langie explained that the vape etomodate was brought by the DPO with the initials M from Malaysia. Then placed somewhere in the Batam area.

Then M, as the controller ordered JF to take and store vape in his rented house.

"JF is tasked with sending the goods to the person who ordered them to M," said Deni

According to him, the suspect JF did not transact directly with the buyer. The one who transacted was suspect M. They communicated by telephone.

If there is an order, M ordered JF to send the etomade vape using an online delivery service.

The price of the etomade vape is sold in the range of IDR 2 million to IDR 2.5 million. For purchases in large quantities, for example, buying five is valued at IDR 1.6 million.

For JF, he continued, wages were obtained from the etomade vape sales commission which he sold independently.

"So the perpetrator does not get wages directly from the controller, he only gets wages when he sells separately. So if he sells at a certain price he gets wages from there. The percentage of the sale itself, outside of the sales requested by the controller," he explained.

As a result of the investigation, the perpetrator J had received two shipments from M. The first shipment was 500 pcs, the second 1,000 pcs, which was successfully thwarted by 887 cartridge liquids.

The etomade vape is sold among certain groups for the upper middle class. The effect caused by the use of the etomade vape, users will lose consciousness (fly) for 10 to 15 minutes.

Suspect JF was charged with Article 435 and/or Article 436 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health with a minimum penalty of 5 years and a maximum of 12 years.
