JAKARTA - The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, insists that it continues to seek peace in the Gaza Strip even though Israel is trying to kill members of the Hamas negotiations delegation in Doha, Qatar.
The statement was made by a member of the Hamas political office, Husam Badran, to Ria Novosti, Wednesday, September 10.
"Hamas leadership will continue to play a political role. Any crime committed by colonial forces will not affect the decisions that have been taken for the sake of the Palestinian people and efforts to end the criminal war of destruction in the Gaza Strip," he said.
According to Badran, the assassination attempt against members of the Hamas delegation in the Qatar capital, Doha, proved Israel had waged war throughout the region.
The Israeli military previously claimed to have carried out an attack on Doha on Tuesday, targeting a number of senior Hamas officials.
Witnesses told RIA Novosti several explosions rocked the center of Doha as the Hamas delegation discussed the US' latest proposal on a ceasefire in Gaza.
