JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo called Eid al-Fitr along with the anniversary of Jesus Christ's ascension this year a blessing for the indonesian state.

"Of course God has a very extraordinary plan so for Indonesia the context becomes important. First, today Muslims perform Eid prayer and Eid al-Fitr together. Second, for christians also commemorate the Ascension of Jesus Christ, the same day," said Ganjar at the Office House, Semarang reported from Antara, Thursday, May 13.

According to Ganjar, the commemoration of the two religious holidays on the same day shows that Indonesians can be side by side in worship, as well as implement tolerance and diversity.

"It shows us all, o yes it feels like we have to respect each other, respect each other, and this is a blessing for Indonesia," he said.

On Eid al-Fitr 144 l2 Hijri, Governor Ganjar again performed Salat Id with his family at the office house because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"These two Eids are the same, equally restrained, both all take care of themselves. Why did my family and I decide to pray Eid at home because of the condition. Conditions outside yesterday the government asked not to go home," he said.

In addition to the unfinished condition of the COVID-19 pandemic, the emergence of several clusters related to the implementation of worship and other activities is also the reason for Ganjar.

Therefore, Ganjar advised the people of Central Java to jointly resolve the COVID-19 pandemic by staying disciplined and adhering to health protocols.

"Some clusters appear, some are from homecoming, some are tarawih, and from takziah. From all those places we mulesti take care of ourselves. We are certainly the same as last year, the pandemic is not complete, then we have to finish well, take care of each other, the crowd is not much, if the crowd can keep a distance, strict health protocols, and so on," said Ganjar.
