Perpetrators Of Women's Mutilation In Suitcases In Kediri Sentenced To Life In Prison

KEDIRI - The Panel of Judges at the Kediri City District Court, East Java, sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment for the murder and mutilation in this city.

Chairman of the Panel of Judges at the Kediri District Court Khairul said the defendant Rohmad Tri Hartanto alias Antok was legally proven convincingly to commit premeditated murder as in the indictment.

"Sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment, determining that the defendant remains detained," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 9.

Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Ichwan Kabalmay said he agreed with the decision on the mutilation case.

"The assembly agrees with us, the articles charged by the panel agree, Article 340 of the Criminal Code, that's what matters," said Ichwan.

The case began with the discovery of a woman's body in a headless suitcase on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Dadapan Village, Kendal District, Ngawi Regency.

The woman's body was not intact when found. His body was placed in a red closed suitcase wrapped like a package.

When found, the body was incomplete. The victim's body was placed in a headless suitcase, then the left leg began with no groin, and the right leg began to no knee.

The police also conducted an autopsy on the victim's body. The autopsy results stated that the cause of death of the victim was suspected to be due to lack of breath due to obstructed airways, possibly due to strangulation.

The police then arrested the perpetrator of the mutilation with the initials RTH alias A (32), a resident of Tulungagung, on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 24.00 WIB. To the police, RTH admitted that he was hurt by the victim so he was desperate to kill and mutilate the UK.

Prior to the murder, the victim was invited to meet the perpetrator at Neverise Tulungagung Terminal, on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The suspect then took the victim to a hotel in Kediri City. At the inn location, the victim was strangled until he fell and died. The murder took place on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 00.30 WIB.

The perpetrator then carried out mutilation on the UK's body and then dismembered it and dumped its body parts separately.

Body parts were put in a suitcase and dumped in Ngawi, the legs were dumped in Ponorogo, while the head was dumped in Trenggalek.
