JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono responded to the amount of housing allowances for members and leaders of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which reached Rp. 78 million per month. This nominal has recently been in the spotlight because it is considered too high.

The amount of allowances for council members is determined by regulation or the governor's decision. So, if you want to revise the decision, Pramono admits that he is still waiting for the DKI DPRD's decision.

"As I said, I have communicated with the Jakarta DPRD and they will hold a meeting for that today. Of course, the authority is that this decision is entirely in the Jakarta DPRD," said Pramono at the Jakarta Guard Stop, Senen, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 8.

Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ima Mahdiah, stated that his party would follow up on the demands of the action masses who asked for housing allowances for DKI Jakarta DPRD members to be reduced.

Ima said the amount of the decrease in the value of housing allowances has not been determined. The evaluation will be carried out through a budget meeting taking into account the condition of DKI Jakarta's local revenue (PAD).

"For the revision, we will discuss it together during the next budget meeting. We will adjust it to the existing PAD," said Ima at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Thursday, September 4.

He explained that the salaries and allowances of members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD have been used to support the supervisory function and absorption of the aspirations of the community.

"We ensure that the salary and allowances can also be returned to the community through advocacy, through aspirations. So, people can see freely and we can be held accountable to the community," he said.

The amount of housing allowance for the leadership and members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is contained in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 415 of 2022. This gubernatorial decree was signed by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

In Kepgub 415/2022, it is stipulated that the housing allowance for the leadership of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is IDR 78.8 million per month, including taxes. Meanwhile, the housing allowance for DKI Jakarta DPRD members is IDR 70.4 million, including taxes every month.
