Defense Minister Asks Indonesian Navy To Strictly Monitor Fish Theft Using New Warship KRI Brawijaya 320

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin asked the Indonesian Navy to use its new warship, KRI Brawijaya 320 to protect Indonesia's marine natural resources.

"We are also faced with the challenge of controlling and securing natural resources owned by the state," said Sjafrie while giving a briefing to the crew of the KRI Brawijaya 320 which docked at Pier 107, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Sjafrie, Indonesia's marine resources are very abundant and must be utilized properly for the benefit of the community.

With the right use of natural resources, Sjafrie believes that the wheels of the Indonesian economy in the field of fisheries and industry will rotate optimally and produce good things for the country.

In order to ensure that all this happens, Sjafrie hopes that the Indonesian Navy through KRI Brawijaya 320 can strengthen maritime security and defense in order to ensure that our marine resources are not used by foreign parties, one of which is by fending off fish theft.

"It is hoped that the Indonesian people, namely the Indonesian National Army, can safeguard the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke from Miangas to Rote Island," explained Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

To note, today Sjafrie and TNI and Polri officials received the arrival of KRI Brawijaya 320 from Italy.

The KRI, made by the Italian ship company Fincantieri, previously sailed 44 days from Italy to Indonesia.

This domestic-made KRI pizza has a length of 143 M and a maximum speed of 32 knots. The ship, which can accommodate 171 crew members, is a frigate that has anti-air warfare (AAW) warfare capabilities with a design that focuses the flexibility, modularity and scalability of the ship's design.

The capability allows the ship to be configured to meet technical requirements and operational roles for the modern Navy.

In addition, KRI Brawijaya-320 also features a modern navigation system and an integrated combat system for controls including a combat management ment system (CMS), sensors, weapons, communication and navigation of systems connected through high data speed networks.
