JAKARTA - Fugitive from Morocco, NE was arrested in Jakarta by the Directorate General of Immigration on Tuesday, August 19. This arrest is a follow-up to the request of the National Police's International Relations Division (Divhubinter) on July 8, 2025.

"NE is a fugitive wanted by the Moroccan Royal Police for the crime of theft, violence, kidnapping of children, and confiscation of parental custody," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman in a written statement, Saturday, September 6.

Yuldi said the arrest was based on the International Arrest Warrant Letter Number 2024/45 which was issued on May 28, 2025.

"This arrest is a follow-up to the request of the National Police's International Relations Division (Divhubinter) on July 8, 2025, which asked the Directorate General of Immigration to conduct searches, prevention, and arrest of the NE," he said.

NE, continued Yuldi, has been in Indonesia since May 1, 2025. He entered via Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara with a visit visa which was later converted into a Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) as an investor with an address in East Jakarta.

"This fugitive is very slippery and continues to change places," he said.

"Thanks to the close coordination between our team and the Police, we managed to track down the whereabouts of NE who continued to move, from Lombok until we finally arrested him in Jakarta," continued Yuldi.

Meanwhile, NE was with his two children while in Lombok. He was then deported on August 21, 2025 via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"The success of this arrest and deportation shows the strong commitment of the Directorate General of Immigration to eradicate cross-border crimes," said Yuldi.

"We will continue to improve coordination and collaboration with law enforcement officials, both at home and abroad, in order to maintain state sovereignty and create a sense of security for the community," he concluded.
