AHY Opens Opportunities For Cooperation With China To Build Giant Sea Wall

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), opens opportunities for cooperation with China for the Giant Sea Wall Pantura infrastructure project.

This was conveyed at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, in response to the bilateral meeting of President Prabowo Subianto with President Xi Jinping in Beijing, Wednesday (3/9).

"I also want to hear what President Prabowo is talking about in China with President Xi Jinping, including whether there is a direct connection with a number of infrastructure projects," AHY said at the Presidential Palace as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 4.

He said the government was overseeing a number of large-scale national strategic projects, including the construction of Giant Sea Wall in Pantura and the expansion of the high-speed train route.

He assessed that the project needed foreign investment support so that it could be realized optimally.

"Because once again, we need investment to help finance infrastructure development, especially large-scale infrastructure," he said.

According to AHY, the government has formed a special authority to handle the protection project for the Pantura Jawa area.

Collaboration with international partners, including China, is considered to be able to accelerate planning, funding, and field executions.

"The most important thing is that later it can be executed properly," he said.
