Police Arrest Provocateurs Homecoming Crowded To Sumatra Via Merak

CILEGON - Cilegon Police Criminal Investigation Unit moved quickly by securing three people on suspicion of provoking the public related to the invitation to homecoming via WhatsApp group message in Merak Port, Banten.

Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Sigit Haryono confirmed the arrest of the three men. However, it has not been able to convey in detail because the Cilegon Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still conducting an investigation into the case.

According to him, the provocation of the homecoming invitation will have an impact on the number of positive cases of COVID-19 that have the potential to surge in Indonesia. Therefore, the culprit must be strictly acted upon.

Related to the ban on homecoming in the jurisdiction of Cilegon Police, Sigit said that it has done its utmost and has deployed Raimas officers and Personnel of Mobile Brigade Banten Police.

For the jurisdiction of Cilegon Police, he said, starting from the entrance toll gate to the arterial lanes in Cilegon has been blocked all and has been prepared motor forces, such as officers Rainmas and officers Brimob Banten Police have driven the community that forced homecoming.

The police chief reminded citizens who do not obey the police's advice or against officers when asking them to disperse will be exposed to Article 212 of the Criminal Code, 216 of the Criminal Code, and Article 218 of the Criminal Code.

Previously, police found a message in a WhatsApp group containing a call to homecoming together from Bekasi, Jakarta, Tangerang, and Serang to Sumatra with a gathering point in Cilegon Square.
