President Prabowo Side By Side With President Putin At The 80th Anniversary Reception Of "Victory Day" In China

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto sat side by side on the 80th Anniversary of "Victory Day" which was held in Beijing, China on Wednesday.

The celebration entitled "Reception Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggresion and the World Anti-Fascist War" was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, led by President Xi Jinping.

After giving the speech, President Xi was accompanied by First Lady Peng Liyuan, sitting together with the heads of state, heads of government and guests present. Right next to President Xi is Russian President Vladimir Putin, then next to him is President Prabowo Subianto, in a photo uploaded on the Kremlin website, as quoted September 3.

Earlier, in an official photo session before the military parade in the morning, the four leaders were also seen in succession at the front row, with Chinese First Lady Peng Liyuan between President Xi and Leader Kim.

Then while watching the military parade from the towers of sight, President Prabowo's successive talks, President Putin, President Xi and Leader Kim were in the midst of a row of heads of state and heads of government attending today's military parade.

As previously reported, President Prabowo flew to Beijing on Tuesday night to attend the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war against Japanese aggression and the anti-fascist world war on Wednesday, September 3.

Initially, President Prabowo reportedly canceled the visit agenda to China to fulfill President Xi Jinping's direct invitation because he wanted to focus on dealing with domestic problems that were being plagued by massive demonstrations in a number of areas.

Prabowo took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, Tuesday, September 2 at around 20.00 WIB using the PK-GIG Presidential Aircraft.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that President Xi Jinping's invitation had actually been scheduled since August 31, 2025. However, President Prabowo had postponed his departure due to the dynamics of the situation in the country.

In addition, the Chinese government also really hopes that Prabowo can attend the invitation even if it is only a day.

"In recent days there has been a very strong request from the Chinese government so that Mr. President Prabowo Subianto at least one day, at the 80th anniversary and at the Chinese Government military parade," Prasetyo said in his statement.

Prasetyo said Prabowo's departure to China had considered many things, including the current state of society.

Previously departing, Prabowo first monitored and received reports that people's lives had gradually recovered as usual.
